Es geht voran mit unserer Arbeit für die Austellung. Hier mal ein paar zusätzliche Infos zu der ganzen Sache:

How did the “Bauhaus” feel about the “Bauhaus” while it was the “Bauhaus”? What did history do to it and its reception in the public thought? Isn’t it that there never was such a thing as a “Gesamtkunstwerk”, is it even possible there will be? And still, yes of course one might argue the famous “Gropius Zimmer” or the “Meisterhäuser” in Dessau, have, by means of historic well-keeping, been accepted as such. Time works. It does! How does time work for us? What is left and will it be what you think?
Ausstellung: 6.9. - 6.10.08 in Bonn "E105"
The exhibition will take place at the Gallery E105 in Bonn from september until the end of the year. The opening is the 6th of september.
Most of the content that's going to be exhibited in the show will come from the preheld four day workshop which will take place in the week from the 14th until the 18th of july. Together with Tjeerd Veenhoven, who furthermore will be holding a lecture about his work, the participants of the workshop, the guests and the main group will work on different pieces which in the end have to be sellable or at least be produceable, since it'll be a vending exhibition.
Der Workshop:
We as students from Weimar were asked to develop a new view onto the diverse and difficult theme “Gesamtkunstwerk”, throwing up new thoughts and challenging old concepts. As an introduction to the topic a 4-day workshop will take place in Weimar in the week of the 14th - 18th of July 2008, bringing together participants and ideas from all faculties. We are going to look into our own perception, tear apart the blown up concepts and phrases the Bauhaus is described with everyday and search for a description a bit closer to the truth of everyday life. What is it we identify with and that makes Weimar such a unique place to study? Step ahead and define a part of our future reception. After the workshop we push our ideas further and exhibit the whole collection in September 2008 at the gallery E105 and as part of the Bauhaus 09 anniversary in 2009.

Meisterfaden
Die Weberei am frühen Bauhaus war die erfolgreichste der Werkstätten. Die dort arbeitenden Schülerinnen erweiterten die bis dahin bekannten Techniken, verwendeten und kombinierten neue Materialien und bezogen den Fortschritt der damaligen Zeit direkt in die Herstellung neuer Textilien mit ein.
Nach der Auflösung des Bauhauses trugen die Weberinnen ihre Kenntnisse in die ganze Welt und übten so einen maßgeblichen Einfluss auf die Entwicklung der Textilkunst.
Heute wird diese Tradition der Weberei und Textilarbeit an der Bauhaus-Universität nicht mehr fortgeführt.
Um an diesen ursprünglichen Bestandteil des Bauhauses zu erinnern und um sich mit ihm auseinanderzusetzen, haben wir an der Konstruktion eines Wandbehanges mithilfe zweier Strickmaschinen gearbeitet. Als gestalterische Grundlage dienten Grundrisse der Dessauer Mustersiedlung.
Ziel der Arbeit ist es, die ersten Auseinandersetzungen mit den Maschinen und die Entwicklung und Umsetzung eigenständiger Muster ablesbar und nachvollziehbar in einem Wandbehang umzusetzen.
